As one of our final assignments for Graphic Design 1, we were asked to design a poster for a play. I chose to create a poster for The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov. I decided that the predominant visual element of the poster should be an upside down cherry tree as a metaphor for the characters’ world being turned upside down.
